Aug 9th, 2022Love this wine. So clean. Apple, pear, skoche of wood. It’s a bit cold so the nose is not as expressive. Palate is ripe and juicy with amazingly clearly defined fruit. Very refined Lügle. Elegant and salty with lovely lime zest and framing sweet wood. Long. Needs to open and warm up. 9.3 for now. So round and so fresh. Lovely purity. Such a great wine.

Aug 4th, 2022Such a terrific Weissburgunder. The Z man strikes again. Nose is a bit quiet off the bat. Maybe it’s a bit cold. But there is apple, mineral and some smoke. I’ll update once it gets a bit warmer. Palate is just immaculate. Ripe and rich but so precise and the limestone tingles throughout. Nose starting to get fresh cut almond slices. Such a great combo of ripe and round juxtaposed with intense jagged limestone and terrific acid structure. Such a serious wine. I sell for like $25. Just an absurd value here. Really concentrated, complex and structured. Tonight this reminds me of the 18 Brisset Cuvee Cassaneas. Out of this world. Nose has such an insane stank after 20 minutes and warning up. Sweet spices. Ocean air. Salt. This is a stunning wine.

Jan 14th, 2017600 ml barrels, 2-3 years old possibly older. So much going on this nose, pure and vivid, yellow peach, fruit is so vivid. Plumcot fruits, amazing structure and density. So tensile. 2 years on the lees.

Aug 18th, 2016Quite closed & shy on the nose upon opening, with a short decant shows ripe pear on sourdough toast, with a healthy pinch of salt. But also expands with time, showing nutmeg, dried mandarine peel, wet pebbles, limestone minerality.
Fresh & incredibly enticing. Quite subtle nonetheless.
On the palate this is a stunner. Intense, structured, with juicy acidity and a almost tannic frame. Ripe pears & apples and loads of minerality, saltiness, savoury edges. Rich yet with great flow, elegant yet with interesting edges. Only the alc (13.5%) could be integrated better, as it slightly sticks out towards the finish.
A brilliant PB and amazing value, too.
Just don’t overchill or it goes bland.

Structured and clean, big in volume and intensely and all buttoned up. Sophisticated florals and the zippy versions of apples, pears, wheatgrass. Touch of oak I think, but not too much. Lovely stuff.
Lugle is high acid big boned Weissburgunder with freshness to suggest that keeping a couple around for a few years might be a good idea.
