Les Vignes d'à Côté Viognier

The viscosity always interests me, & thought an old world Sauvignon Blanc at first, but in the end— I always like, not love, viognier

Bang average. Fat, flabby, overripe, lacking spine. Clean, but tasting of stewed pit fruits and utterly forgettable. #cuilleron #viognier

Ginger, apricot, peach and jasmine tea heaven. Nose deserves a 9.5 but not quite for the palate. Oily texture. Diminished acidity. Very hollow on the mid palate and a bit flabby.

Nose is on point. Honeyed peach. Enthralling. Palate opens with a burst of the same, strong ginger note. Palate fades out stone, bitter almond. Good, if rather simple example of this varietal and terroir.

2016 Cuilleron Viognier “Les Vignes d’a Cote”. Denny Zeitlin’s piano playing is top notch and is a lovely way to wind down the day with this wine.

On f'cking point. Extra crispy skin w a chewy condrieu center.

Holy cow....I love this wine!! Really different!! Flowery, light, flavorful.....honeysuckle.
