A core of dense deep dark fruits, quintessential McLaren Val chocolate, coffee, subtle herbs and spice. Ripe and sweet, with tannin of amazing length and silky yet muscular grip. Sweet as in the very-best-of, not overdone, everything is beautifully balanced and turns to a mild savoury finish.

Vineyard sits in high elevation area on sandy ironstone soils, deep Ruby, purple edges, aged for 15 months in 35% new French oak, with aromas of dark fruits and sweet spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry and ripe cherry with espresso, leather and vanilla oak. Tannins are a bit tight and rustic on a long finish, good balance, ending with fruit, spice and mineralogy. Just starting to taste well but a few years in the cellar will benefit.

Much bigger, bolder, darker fruits, black licorice, dark earth and fresh floral nose. Big meaty tannins, dark, dark cassis, luscious blueberries, violets, dark earth with crushed rocks, soft, supple spices that rise off the palate in layers and in warmth. There's excellent structure, length, tension and a very serious polished finish. Photos are of the terroir soil this is grown in and the layout of all Yangarra vineyards.

Outstanding statement of warm climate Shiraz. Ripe dark fruits, subtle spice, to die for ripe tannin .. All the things that can go horribly wrong with jammy SA reds can also go fantastically right and create an elegant powerhouse like this.

Brought back from a 2019 Australia trip while visiting several wineries. Not remembering this specific visit. Really enjoyed with our Indian dinner today.
