Still so young, 2016 Morstein is thunderously energetic, massively concentrated and immensely powerful. It’s absolutely rocking after 3 hours in the decanter. Next time, I’d like to start it that way. Its aromatics are layered with stone fruit, lemon-lime, fresh green herbs and wet stone. The palate is juicy, intense and infinitely mineral with a seriously long saline finish. Such an incredible expression of Riesling.

Intensely focused yet widely dimensioned apricot and exotic tropical fruits like lychee and mango. All of that orderly packed within a rich and deep mineral frame. Endless length and texture in a rarified class. This is already drinking well, even if primary.

Jul 15th, 2021Packed with power, energy and killer concentration. This is a serious Riesling. Simultaneously there is an incredible elegance and weightless intensity. There is laser focus and pin point precision in its citrus and mineral infused backbone and electrified acidity.
It has such presence and depth on the midpalate and a perfect transition to its exceptionally long finish. Even in its infancy it shows such an incredible expression of the varietal, and I can only imagine a remarkable future ahead. I haven’t been graced with the luck to the try the G-Max yet, but this is my favorite GG.
