Thick body, with an array of stone fruit & white flowers on palate. Found it to be a bit meh in mid palate & in its acidity.

Sunday night and I have opened the 2016 Josef Leitz Rüdesheimer Magdalenenkreuz Spätlese Riesling from the Rheingau region of Germany.

On the nose there is green apple, lemon/lime, pear, the ever present rubber bicycle tire, honeycomb and jasmine.

On the palate there is the green apple, apricot, pear, lime, petrol, lanolin and a good minerality.

This wine is sweet but in balance, light to medium in body with a smooth oily mouthfeel and medium + acidity which leads right into a medium long fresh fruit finish. I hope everyone's weekend was a joyous one? With the week ahead please stay safe and healthy and before you know it it will be the weekend once again. Nostrovia! 🥂🥂🥂🥂

2015 vintage. White nectarine, honeysuckle, ripe yellow pear, slightly green pineapple, mirabelle, green fig, wet stones. Quite nice now, seems like it would hold well.

There was tremendous energy to spare with notes of fresh lime, rosemary, rich lemon curd, and a spritz of minerality. On the palate, I found green apple, with fresh pear and stunning acid-driven minerals. It finished on white berries and lemon lime, with amazing concentration that went on and on

Great mineral, zest and weight. Awesome with a spicy ramen bowl.

Great balance - excellent with spicy. We had it with lamb vindaloo.
