A stunning Riesling. Minerals, creamed corn, spice and slate. So aromatic. Palate is ripe and rich with crazy acidity and the best balance between the opulence of the site and the acids of the vintage. Long finish. So precise. As this airs the nose gets so spicey and complex. So concentrated and explosive. Yet nimble. Amazing finish.

WOW. Minerals, crusted rock dust, and honeysuckle florals on the nose. Sultry. The overall package of the wine transcends the elements. It’s stoney and dry up front, showing glimpses of elegant exotic sour citrus, really ripe orange and fresh pomelo fruit. But then it becomes generous as it caresses the palate sweetly through to the finish. Overall, so much balance here, it’s a magical interpretation of the grape- providing even some flights of fancy. Like fruit that is camouflaged and pulsating and minerals that in and of themselves seem ripe. Day 3-4 and tropical notes set in. Unbelievable.

Sep 16th, 2022This is sizzlingly mineral. Yellow fruits, apricots, rock dust, so so mineral. God damn. So textured. Juicy. Most fruity. Super mineral. Big but fine and balanced. More elegant than Wehlener Sonnenuhr. So much acidify and concentrated. Stunning and pure.

Aug 26th, 2022Just a stunning and unique nose of startling originality. Wild mint, flowers and pollen. Marzipan. Really floral like a flower shop but also the pollen is really there and really unique! Stunning. Deep slate and minerality behind it all. Genius. The vividness and accuracy of the aromas is blowing my mind. 9.9 nose. Just magical. Smells Tolkienesque. My god how elegant this wine is and super fresh. Intense, exploding minerality and endless depth. The acid is perfection for all the wealth of material. Length is stupid long. This glides on the palate. What a mid palate and an almost tannic grip on the finish. This initially is 100% mineral on the palate and I’m curious if it will fruiten up. I know it will. That finish is full of pulverized slate and keeps going and going. Amazing concentration and mouthfeel. The acid is so straight. Doesn’t go up or down, weather stays right down the middle of the plate. I love this when. So unique, delicious and exciting. I’ll be back as it airs out.

In the interest of science. The extract and intensity on this wine are off the charts. On the nose: refined peach skin, tangerine, sweet tea, ultra-sweet meyer lemon; words do not do justice to the aromatic intensity. On the palate: acidity that crackles and sizzles, but balanced by a gravitas; supremely elegant, cloudlike meyer lemon and ripe peach, soft lime and a finish charting a smooth gradient from dense to evanescent. Absolutely stellar and one of the best wines I have had this year.
