Weinbau Jalits
Reserve Eisenberg Blaufränkisch
Südburgenland, Burgenland, Austria

Whenever I drink Blaufränkisch from Eisenberg, I often sense a bit of smoke on the nose. The Eisenberg DAC is small, 500 hectares. 12 months in small barrels. Fruit, minerals, sexy texture, richness is lifted by well-judged acidity. This wine is about tannin love!

Jul 3rd, 2018Rich, brambly black fruit paired with a smoky minerality and fresh floral hint. Medium bodied, with juicy acidity, polished yet grippy tannins and a great, long finish. Black & blueberries, cassis, the (French, used barriques) wood is integrated perfectly. Delicious stuff.
