Pretty red orange color fading to a thin clear meniscus with toffee, baked red fruits, roast coffee and honey aromas. On the palate it medium-bodied and rich with baked cherry and raspberry, toffee and honey flavors. Medium long finish. Bottled in 2012. Wonderful pairing with a chocolate chip cookie!

It's Port, and it's awesome. If you could bottle up excellence in liquid form, it would be Warre's Optima 10.

The nose on this tawny Port is so full of raisins and hot caramel it can mean nothing except dessert. The palate reaffirms that feeling, with a sweet taste which brings a little savory along for the ride. There’s enough acidity to make pairing possible, maybe with a slice of pumpkin or pecan pie.

Drink too much and you will be cursing the Portuguese or cursing in Portuguese, depending on how far gone you are.

Learning about Port this year. Starting with this. Nutty on the nose. Caramel sweetness? Out of my element here.

Nice color of clear violet. Nose of nice brandy, fermented raisins, a bit cocoa, and a bit oak or cedar, very clear and classic port nose. Taste is similar, dense flavors with ample acidity, plummy and some dates flavors. Aftertaste of some more spicy sweetness with zest. Quite decent.

Toffee, baked cherries, caramel popcorn, cinnamon and other baking spice, cocoa. Delicious and not overly syrupy.
