Impromptu meet up at Classic!

Salted caramel & golden pear! Wow. What a gorgeous nose. Slightly viscous palate with tart and under ripe tropical fruits. Very little butter. This is in a really good drinking window...need to seek this producer out more often. Almost a 9.4 for me. Thanks

Fun to tap into the dwindling collection of this wine, which we had at our wedding little over a year ago. Rich, a touch of oil, lovely purity, tropical but not too much. It's taking more and more like a voluptuous styled white Burgundy.

This was one of our wedding wines. Rather nice to have a few bottles left over. This one was enjoyed on Cape Cod on July 4th. An accessible and definitively American wine. Rich, somewhat tropical but still elegant. It's gorgeous and made more so by virtue of the wonderful associated memories.

Soft and accessible, with lovely tangerine, butter, honey and French oak flavors, Hansel’s Chardonnay Estate Vineyard captures the essence of the Russian River. It is also one of the very finest values in California wine. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, April 2018)

Cedar & nutmeg, ripe yellow apples, yellow mango & pineapple. Seriously spicy, like someone dipped a mango in cinnamon. Hard to eat with food that has heat to it.

Excellent chard, beautiful golden color, fragrant pear on the nose, good full bodied follow through on the palate. Only demerit is the slightest acidic twist at the back end. But that mellows after breathing awhile. Don’t overchill

Walter Hansel makes pinots that I love and, as it turns out, makes a really nice Chardonnay despite the fact that it came to me because I clicked on the wrong bottle when online shopping. Nonetheless, a rich, floral and honey laced chard with the right touch of oak.
