Certainly one of the absolute best 1er crus in Chassagne, 2018 La Romanée from Dancer is superb tonight, of Grand Cru quality and particularly exceptional for the vintage. It’s bouquet is layered with ripe stone fruit, white flowers, toasted hazelnut and attractive reduction and its deeply concentrated palate has incredible vibrancy and lift, totally in focus and elegantly textured, giving way to a notably long mineral inflicted finish. Fantastic bottle.

Rich, round and intense while also showing great focus and purity. Showing really excellent now with minimal reduction, great power, concentration and precision. The ripe vintage is definitely evident, but there is just enough cut to keep it all in balance. And the balance and focus becomes even more evident as it unfurls in the glass and in the decanter. Ripe stone fruits, lemon-lime, white flowers, exotic spice and a touch of honeysuckle. Mineral infused finish with great length and tension. Dancer is a true star in Burgundy and I’m glad to find it on the terrific wine list at The NoMad Hotel!

Very bright and lifted. Zesty lemon, limestone. A little light on the midpalate. Shells and a touch of salinity. Refreshing

A lovely vivid, slightly matchstick aroma nose. Creamy on the palate with lemon oil, limestone and yellow flowers. Very pretty. Lacks a little depth and length.

From the great Dancer, showing both power and richness, initially a bit tight requiring some time to breath. Match smoke, exotic citrus, lime zest and plenty of new oak. The wine finishes very clean and with excellent precision.

A little on the reductive side but truly wish I've bought more of it
