What more can I say about aged Rioja? These are true gems for those looking for beautifully aged wines that drink like champions. This 88 was a winner and no where near its end. Easily another 10 years.

Sublime traditional red Rioja. Textbook American new oak: sweet vanila, coconut, cinnamon. Heady aroma of violet. Slight Brett not in a bad way at all. Licorice/anise and clove. Desiccated strawberry, cranberry, and dark cherries. Beautiful ruby with orange rim. Medium plus concentration and staining.

Cherry and a rather heavy oak treatment...at least I thought. Seemed modern...which I wouldn’t expect. That being said, I thought it had plenty of quality.

18+ brilliant! Still 'young'. Perfect balance. Light weight, smooth - ethereal would be a bit strong, but that's how it feels. Plenty of fruit.
