A blend of 95% Tempranillo & 5% Graciano, aged in new oak for 2 years and in bottle for 3 years before release. Ruby and Youthful, with aromas of black fruits and complex spice notes. From hand harvested grapes from better plots in Rioja Alavesa, the palate shows black and red berry fruits, some stewed cherry, with developing flavors of cacao, cedar and toasty leather notes. Smooth yet powerful tannins very well structured, balanced acidity, ending with a long finish of fruit almost a bit creamy. Outstanding and will only get better in the bottle!

Soft bricked edges. Gentle cherry with a spicy, woody note. Very pretty.

Mmmm this is a tasty one! Lovely aromas and flavors of black cherry, blackberry and pomegranate with under notes of vanilla, cinnamon, tobacco, and new-car leather. All this plus smooth as silk tannins and luscious acidity made this an incredible pairing for roasted ox-tail. Doesn’t get much better than this!

Quite smooth and gets better the longer you let it sit, a very good Spanish wine that would go excellently with meat or cheese

Cherries and ripe red fruit; opaque dark plumb but a bit watery at the rim; frankly little short and, it seems, insufficiently tannic. Decanted for a total of 7 hours but never really opened up - one to forget in the cellar for a couple of decades to see if it develops.

Clean, delineated nose with cinnamon and cedar. Excellent poise and texture on the mid-palette. Finishes sweet with polish and pedigree.

We tasted a lot of big wines this day, but this, my birth year wine was a standout for me. I truly believe nearly no modern wines will age this well. They often seen plenty ripe, but often miss a tension that exists (and would probably taste under ripe in a tight wine) in these older bottles.

Cork barely made it out with a Durand. Took a few minutes to blow off some funk but revealed glazed strawberry and cigar box. 375ml
