Grippy, with a beautiful backbone of Piemonte acidity and leathery tannins. Lifted, bright red berries. Superb. 78 weeks after Initial Coravin, this system really works.

Good structure but the oak still needs time to integrate.

Ripe cherry, dark crushed plum, cedar, herbs and cinnamon bark. A modern feel with plenty of tannin at this point yet shows a beauty in perfume and explosive fruit concentration.

Modeen style of barbera. Dark fruit and cherry, very soft, palate has touch of red fruit. Overall rather enjoyable.

Wonderful depth. Almost black in color. Great integration of tannin/acid.

I'm a big fan of Barbera and I like Vietti normally so I was excited for this. Unfortunately it didn't live up to the price tag. There were signs it might be better in a few more years but I don't think I'll reinvest. Too modern.

Drinking “Scarrone” while looking at the Scarrone vineyard in Castiglione Falletto - the best way to enjoy this well-structured Barbera.
