Riserva Barolo Nebbiolo

I’ve read that 73 was an elegant vintage. Not for long term cellaring. For me, this is totally peaking. It definitely improved with decanting and the last sip was the best. Great bottle that was bought from winery on release and stored in Alba until it was sold with a cellar. Fortunate to track down this 💎

Lovely intense. Searing soured cherry fruit. Very clean, elegant, with a bit of tang and delicious balance. Excellent.

I can't believe this 56 year old wine @ £180 is still alive (just!)

🍷Garnet orange red with thick brick edge

👃An old tawny port / sherry w/ prunes & dates through oxidised charred cherry w/ burnt tobacco & earthy tones

👄 Med body of tart smooth dirty earthy cherry w/ balsamic tones

🎯 Long long dirty tart cherry linger
