Blend of 51% Pinot Noir, 34% Chardonnay and 15% Meunier, Golden straw color with aromas of stone and citrus fruits with notes of spice and nutty toast. On the palate flavors of ripe apple and pear with citrus tones and floral notes. Great balance, good bubble bead flow and mousse, lively acidity, long finish ending with crisp toasty mineral tones. A Fav!

A Valentines Day tipple earlier this week. 61% Pinot Noir, 34% Chardonnay, 5% Pinot Meunière. Quite pale for a 2008 vintage with a fine bead. Initially yeasty aromas of a fresh bread shop. Citrus and toast on nose and palate. More a summer, racy, fresh crisp champagne than a heavy, hearty, rich Winter Champagne. Good but hoping for more from the 2008 vintage. No harm in drinking these now but still years to go in its vintage journey.

Enjoyable but I couldn’t find anything about this that wowed me. Will revisit in a few years.

Tight, almost imperceptible mousse until this hits the tongue and the bubbles fill your mouth. Really long acids, though the fruit feels a bit primary at this point. With more time will probably be drinking really nicely. Very vinous.

Night two and this is really beautiful!

This is their 2002 Vintage Brut but the top of the bottle reads 250 ANS? Maybe, an anniversary bottling. I do seek out Veuve Clicquot as much of what I’ve tried from them hasn’t to my liking. There are simply producers I enjoy more at or under their price points. But, this was quite good & the best offering I've had from them. Enjoyed it. Better than all the vintages of Grande Dame I've had. Having said that, it is not on the same par as the 02 Rare and 02 Billecart.

It was showing the right spot to starting drinking it. More reductive than oxidative. Lively, fresh acidity. Citrus blend, some of both apples, a little white stone fruit, nice brioche, soft playful yeastiness, excellent fine chalkiness, alluvial limestone, spring flowers and well done, balanced, structured, tensioned, elegant and not overly polished finish that lasted 90 seconds.
