The 2021 GSM is a field blend of 70% Garnacha, 15% Syrah and 15% Monastrell from Los Chacayes in the Uco Valley. The grapes were harvested together in one row, and 50% of the wine was aged for six months in French oak barrels, while the remaining 50% went into concrete vats. Garnet-red with a brick-dust sheen. The nose shows strawberry and herb hints with a subtle layer of oak. Juicy and vibrant, the tannins are taut and reactive, creating a tart palate before the lingering, saline finish. This is a distinctively lean, flavorful red wine. (Joaquín Hidalgo, Vinous, September 2023)

That Syrah really comes into the nose, playing that usual barnyard funk.

First wave is lighter bodied yet completely flavorful with pomegranate (red fruit only) lemon basil, raspberry, unripe Moro oranges.

2nd wave is the lovely lingering finish of jolly rancher red, and a mouth filling satisfaction.

I love this producer. Amazing things going on here.

CDR blend from Mendoza. Air brings some grippiness to the light wild red fruits. Eric Asimov gave this a shout out recently for 20$ & under.

Medium ruby, medium intensity aromas of ripe red cherry, raspberry, opens up to macerated strawberries and full florals; dry, medium plus acid, medium tannins, medium alcohol, medium minus body, medium intensity flavors of red cherry, raspberry, macerated strawberries, chrysanthemums; medium finish, light red with pure flavors, aromas get a bit overripe as it opens, but very good

Solid medium-weight red. Balanced. Earthy notes with tobacco, slightly woody, medium-minus acidity with hints of black fruit. Long finish. Just a hint of fun funk around the edges to give it some interesting character.

70% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 15% Mourvedre, 13.8% ABV

Super easy drinking, fantastic QPR ($12-15). Good pizza wine, and house wine.

Transparent plum colored, and pretty light bodied. Weird nose of cigarette ash, cabbage, and underripe strawberries. M+ acid, M tannin... interesting, if not exactly delicious.

70% garnacha 15% syrah 15% monastrell
Tart red fruits and earthiness on the nose, big round body, tart red fruits with a good acid tingle, but lingering, mouth+coating tannins. Not as light as the last GSM that was 40/40/20... The garnacha brings the body and tannins. Not as nice for a summer red, but will be fantastic with Estrellon tonight!

Light style GSM, Grenache dominates. Would match well with grilled meats
