Deep purple; prunes, black cherries, and licorice on the nose; medium acidity; bold, but smooth tannins; tastes like red plum, sweet tabacco, blueberries, and maybe vanilla with a long peppery finish. After a long decant this wine developed a chocolate aroma on the nose, the acidity toned down, and the plums taste more like prunes. I think it's even better after the decant. It was fun to experience this wine's development.

Enjoyable Malbec...first let me say I’m not in love with the trending #malbec😉 This had characteristics I enjoyed; Green Bell Pepper, Plums....the Vanilla that was raves about in tasting notes wasn’t obvious and was more Raisin-Butter tart...so not offending. The thick mouth feel was the hi-light of the wine and the mild heat and flavour of smoked Poblano. More maturity would help tannins balance.🍷

This stellar Malbec is inky indigo with intense notes of dark fruits like plum, raisin and blackberry pie. The nose has some spicy aromas, charred oak with an enticing violet lift.The supple, dusty tannins and hint of oak lead to a round, smooth finish. This particular wine is suitable for cellar aging. We paired it with grilled skirt steak in a chimichuri marinade.

Vaglio Chacra 2014 Malbec (SRP $19): This hand-harvested Malbec is from Vaglio, a micro-winery in Tupungato established by @JoséloVaglio that’s focused on micro-climates and minimal intervention winemaking. José currently produces four single-vineyard wines. This selection comes from Agrelo, a small wine-producing village within Mendoza. Dark fruit flavors -- fresh and mature, are framed by subtle notes of cedar spice, black licorice, and a dash of white pepper. In the mouth, it is medium-to-full bodied with a dusty texture; showing power yet refinement, closing with a mineral-tinged, lingering finish.
