Fiano Kings Unico Zelo drop this slightly second ferment beauty from the Riverland in my lap. I'm in love, I'm in love, I'm in love. Calling my first child Fiano.

This is the second bottle in the next #thetcwineclub monthly tasting box. And hopefully it's something new for you all to try!

Fiano is a white Italian grape varietal which is known to produce full-flavoured white wines with the potential to age. I've tried a few recently and really enjoyed the balance of those full flavours and the freshness.

This 2016 Fiano is made in the Riverland Region in South Australia. It's a sandy golden colour on the eye and it could just be me but I noticed some little bubbles on the glass. On the nose it's rather chalky with hints of dried herbs, nuts, lemon, honey and Mr. Spittoon was picking up daisies. The palate has nice refreshing acidity and weight - it coats every millimetre of the mouth and has a lovely looong finish. I like it!

All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective, so make sure you drink what you enjoy! #tcweekdaywine #mediasample

Never heard of (let alone had) an Australian fiano. Had plenty of Italians, but...really interesting!
