Napa Valley Merlot

Needs an hour plus to show anything. Dark plum and cherry. Sweet allspice/clove. Noticeable oak and heat.

Quite full fragrance on the nose but a light light on the taste; not the mismatch I was expecting. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a beautiful wine, just had higher hopes. This is crisp with a touch of acid. I’m tasting cranberry, pomegranate, and a mere suggestion of vanilla.

Lovely color. Dark blood and berries. Nose is a mix of rocks and lovely berries. Hint of rain in the desert. Flavors are nice. Fleshy and balanced. Plenty of licorice and zip. It’s a great Merlot of the CA style with a nod to the French style.

Last one of these in my cellar. Not much has changed...soft, balanced, lovely. Twomey makes a very nice Merlot, year in and year out.

Smoky aroma, wooden, dry, oaky taste, strong tannins, pairs beautifully with a well seasoned burger or spicy sausage.

Since I last had one of these 18 months ago, it has softened and improved. Soft, loaded with black and blue fruits. Nice wine.

Blueberry and black cherry predominate on a silky smooth palate. Medium body, moderate finish. Another very nice Twomey wine.

Pale ruby color. Aromas of cranberry, clove, and a hint of cinnamon. Strong flavors or red fruit, loads of spice with a dry finish.
