Rocche dell'Annunziata Barolo Nebbiolo
Love these wines. Amazing how new age winemaking in Barolo has them drinking so beautifully on release.

Aug 27th, 2023Immediately sold after having a taste of Nicola Oberto’s gorgeous 2018 Berri, 2019 is even better and the ‘Grand Cru’ Rocche dell'Annunziata is total stunner tonight, perfumed, floral and elegant, wafting from the glass with incense, roses, exotic spices and dark cherries. The palate is impeccably structured, detailed and vibrant with a lasting mineral finish with fine grained tannins. A fabulous young Barolo!

Oct 29th, 2022The 2017 Barolo Rocche dell'Annunziata is powerful, dense and tightly wound. This is an especially dark, somber wine from a site where Barolos tend to be much more floral and red-toned in their fruit expression. At the same time, the Rocche is less impacted by oak than some of the earlier vintages, which leads me to think all the 2017 needs is time in bottle to unwind. There is a lot here. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, October 2021)

Smells like cherry juice. Tannic and very bitter.

Oct 5th, 2021Wonderful. Lifted, elegant aromatics of flowers, spice and red fruit. Lavender. Blood orange. Licorice. Bright acids, great balance, integration and energy. Gains volume with extended air. Superb showing.

2 people found it helpfulFeb 4th, 2020Certainly young. This isn’t quite as tightly coiled as some young Barolo can be but it’s not exactly relaxed either. Still with a few hours in the decanter it opened up, aromas emerged and it drank nicely. If I had more I’d hold for a while.
