TOR Kenward Family Wines
Hudson Vineyard Chardonnay
This has been consistently my favorite Chard and designate year after year. They've stopped making it which is disappointing but there are others sourcing from this vineyard (and they make their own). Very balanced in my opinion and the goldilocks of chardonnays - not too much oak, not too little, just right. And PS @Bill Bender - Tor and Rolexes go hand in hand. Just sayin'.

Jul 15th, 2017Honeysuckle, lemon meringue & honeycomb aromatics. Low acidity. This carries a waxy, honeyed almond palate...almost a savory note once it warms; really nice...more ripe and powerful than other Hudson chards. Drinking in its prime now. Delicious.

1 person found it helpfulMay 8th, 201713' Let it open up in your glass for a bit. Just below cellar temperature is the perfect way to drink this. A little more old world than the 12.' Bedrock, slate, green apples. Citrus flavors on the backside of the palate . Just the perfect amount of oak. I haven't tasted anything like this coming out of Hudson vineyards before. I do believe this wine will taste even better with a little time.

Plays it close to the vest right now and needs time (another 1-2 years?).

Creamy, buttery, hazelnut, pear, a touch of honey. Great balance. Delicious.

Nectarines and Meyer lemons on the nose. Palette is consistent. Honied notes with bright acidity and balance. Thank you so much, Carl.

This is one of my favorites among the Tor Chardonnays. While Burgundian in style, this still definitely shows a new world streak. Great stone fruit, honey, butter and a bit of floral on the palate. The wine is rich, balanced and drinking perfectly right now for me. Had this at just above cellar temp and popped and poured.

Apr 17th, 2016A big rich cal chard, but with enough acidity to lift it.

Jan 11th, 2018For a red lover, and not a fan of Chards, this wine knocked me off my feet! I absolutely Loved it! If I could describe my perfect request for a white wine, it would be this one. Butterscotch, almond, a slight fruity hint of lemon zest but not sharp or tart, buttery and bright yet incredibly smooth and a nice heavy feel. This is my favorite white wine ever! (And ranks above some of my fave reds).
