Rafael Valpolicella Classico Superiore Corvina Blend

Now to the wine. This cuvée is always a dependably good and typical Valpo. For decades and decades. Bright almond-inflected cherry, a bit of warm gravel. Medium bodied, lively, tangy, and fruity on the palate. A welcome and subtle bitter note on the finish. Soft and gulpable.

BBQ night hidden treasure with this Valpolicella gem from 2014 drinking in 2023. Perfect silky tannins and great oak and cherry notes with earthy raspberry finish. Nicely balanced for a good value

Inexpensive bottle but tasty and full of flavor and depth. Medium acidity, mostly round, medium body too. Doesn’t linger long but tastes great. Dark cherries and vanilla primarily, some plum and raisin after.

Ruby with aromas of simple red fruits and herbs. On the palate flavors of cherry and raspberry with earthy herbs, vivid acidity. Fine tannins, medium finish ending with fruit character.

Cherry cola, almonds. Forest floor and a tiny bit of vanilla. Spicy, fruity mouthfeel. Great food wine.

Good and easy table wine, needs a few minutes to open up

Rating before pizza & antipasti. Good, hopefully gets better

Very smooth and subtle. Dark cherries on the nose and an earthy finish. Seems very versatile with pairings!

Perfect w/ roast chicken & pomegranate sauce. Sour cherries & something minerally & smoky. Great value
