The 2021 Pinot Noir is hauntingly dark, blending crushed blackberries with grilled herbs and wet stone. It's softly textured and round with pretty red and black fruits guided by juicy acidity. The 2021 leaves a subtle tinge of licorice, tapering off with medium length and a black tea resonance. (Eric Guido, Vinous, January 2024)

The 2017 Toil Oregon Pinot Noir is absolutely singing even in its youth. Shades of blood orange zest and peat moss combine with the core of red fruits on the nose. The palate is vibrant showing a great combination of tension and weight. This has a prettier fruit profile certainly than the 2015 edition, with pomegranate seed and Tangerine zest that mingle with minerals and the earthy undertones of the wine. This is highly elegant Pinot Noir. Bright and very pretty now at the three year mark, the 2017 Toil Pinot Noir will show beautifully for two decades. Drink 2020-2038- 95

The nose is quite compelling once in the glass, as this beautiful Pinot Noir Rose awakens to unveil pink grapefruit blossom, rose water and red cherry candy aromatics that all mingle in the glass. The palate shows a beautiful texture and weight as this silky, stand alone Rose shows a flair of Provence. Blood orange, guava puree and Meyer lemon zest flavors with lighter suggestions of peat moss combine with lip smacking acidity on the palate. The finish lasts for nearly a minute. Exceedingly good, highly poised and satisfying, this classy effort will be enjoyed over the next eight years, picking up tertiary notes as it ages. Drink 2019-2025- 93

Not your typical Willamette Valley Pinot. A bit more extracted, yet still delicate flavors.

The nose is perfect on this Willamette Pinot Noir. But the palate is quite rough around the edges. A nice buy for under $35 but not something I would open to impress guests. Good for pizza night or taco Tuesday.
