First time having this bottling. A decently made 22. It was smooth and elegant but lacked a bit of depth & character that day.

I never rate friends wines so take the 9.0 as a place holder score but.. very pretty. Seamless. Not about absolute power, more (and god I hate the term) old school style. Delicious now but my other 2 will not be opened for a while.

Very floral nose of rose, strawberry, lilac, overripe raspberry, but not soggy, velvet and just a hint of cold charcoal. Deep burgundy with hints of purple to the edges, medium bodied, with slightly grippy tannins. Palate features ripe, deep red fruits, with notes of black olives, plums, blackberry and rose petal, with a long finish with notes of violet flowers and hints of tobacco smoke in the back of the throat. Three cheers for Kiko!

+1hour decant(decent sediment). A wondrous deep purplish magenta color. On the nose: expressive perfumed notes of blackberry, dark plum, eucalyptus, herbaceous, cigar box, dark chocolate. Taste: silky, opulent, structured teeth staining wine with dark cherry/blackberry, loamy soil, dark chocolate, and long minerally cedar finish. YUM!! 1st vintage and aging nicely...from the famed To Kalon vineyard and made by Andy Erickson.
