It's time for my #FridayCabernetfix.
Inky in color with a short reddish rim.
Fruity nose and full bodied with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with nice complexity.
Showing blackberries, black currants, cooked plums, cedar, tobacco leaf, vanilla, light earth, herbs, spices, cola, chocolates, coffee, peppercorn, licorice and pencil lead.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and cherries.
This is a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Rich and extracted. Tangy and elegant.
Nicely balanced with a soft mouthfeel, and good by itself as a sipping wine.
Good right out of the bottle, and better after 2 hours of airtime.
Drinking much better now than when I had it three years ago.
This 10 year old is peaking now, and will continue to drink nicely in the next 5 years.
A blend of 85% Cabernet, 8% Petit Verdot and 7% Malbec. Aged in (93% new) French Oak barrels for 20 months.
14.9% alcohol by volume.
93 points.
$180.

Deep purple in color with a very short purple rim.
Strong nose of blackberries, black currants, black plums, dried figs, raisins, cedar, vanilla, licorice, tobacco, coffee, mocha, dark chocolates and herbs.
Full-bodied, smooth and bold, with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry and very fruity on the palate with blackberries, black plums, cooked cherries, cedar, vanilla, spices, espresso, light earth, licorice, tobacco, chocolates and black pepper.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.
This young Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley needs a few hours to open up property.
Big and bold. Fruit forward and extracted. Rich and opulent.
Still very young, and needs at least five years in the bottle to mature properly. Will age nicely in the next 15 years.
Good by itself or with food. Will pair nicely with a big piece of steak. A good sipping wine too.
A blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot. Aged for 22 months in 100% new French oak barrels.
14.5% alcohol by volume.
92 points.
$115.

Muscular strength and dark concentration - its noticeably different than their other wines due to the vineyard site, as well as the use of 100% new French Oak. Instead of being sourced from the main property where the white label cabernet is, the Reserve is sourced from their separate family estate on Ehlers lane, where it is on a bit higher elevation, on a free draining hill.
85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Malbec, 8% Petit Verdot - big, bold, dark, and intense - mocha, blackberry reduction, black pepper, chewy tannin.. definitely a little peppery on the nose but not overly to the point of being too much. Meant for some good ol' Cali BBQ tri-tip.

Delicious wine. Good fruit and balance. Restraint is what makes this wine sing against its competitors. @Pignetti's Restaurant, Temple TX

Not too bad for an '11.....in the desert, it's easy to get dehydrated so we drink. 🌵

1 person found it helpfulMay 27th, 2015Titus 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve. Subtle bouquet of black fruits and coffee. Complex palate of the same subtle black fruit, coffee, licorice, mild baking spice, soft dusty tannins. Still a little heat from the alcohol. I've had it in the cellar for 5 years! It's nice, but probably a tinge past its prime.
