La Pièce sous la Bois Blagny 1er Cru Pinot Noir

Popped and poured; enjoyed over a 90 minute period. The 2019 “La Pièce sous le Bois” pours a glossy ruby color with a transparent core; medium viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, well…the nose is gorgeous, if not downright sexy. Freshly picked, perfectly ripened strawberries, porchini, forest floor and gentle warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannins and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and voluptuous. This is very well-made. The fruit is such a star it’s almost as if this could have been from Santa Cruz Mountains. Drinking well now and has the ability to be enjoyed through 2029.

Deep dark cherry in color. Flowery component and ripe fruit. No sharp edges here.

Earthy with dark cherries and a full, round, complex mouthfeel. Would never have guessed it's 13%. Nice

Very fresh. Lots of red fruit almost new world style

Florals a bit too much for me. As well, the fruit too bright. Strong perfumes and the alcohol is a little too hot. Perhaps with more bottle age they will mellow. 375ml.

Not a lot of Blagny in my life. But this will do fine. Just drink don't think kind of wine.

Fruit balanced acidity, beautiful earth. Great wine

Couldn't ask for more from this wine. Earthy and long, the fruit is beautiful and gentle. Tannins mostly resolved. No sign of green meanies.

Excellent red burg by the glass at absinthe!
