Ruby in color with a wide reddish rim. A Pretty color.
Fruity nose of blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked strawberries, spices, pencil lead, oak, black olives, vanilla, licorice, cloves and black pepper.
Full-bodied and bold with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry and extremely fruity on the palate with blackberries, cooked cherries, dried figs, chocolates, licorice, cloves, spices, oak, vanilla and peppercorn.
Medium plus in length on the finish with firm tannins (after 45 minutes) and tangy cranberries.
This Zinfandel from California is always enjoyable. Big and bold, and a good party wine. Very fruity and spicy with mild complexity and a great mouthfeel.
Good right out of the bottle and better as it opens up and shows some tannins.
Might be too sweet for some.

Jan 23rd, 2019Saldo season! This is my favorite mid-priced full-bodied red, but it’s too heavy before mid to late Fall. Just right with oaky sweetness, jammy fruit, and a dash of savory seasoning. Prepping Monday-off dinner with chicken thighs, kimchi potatoes and arugula.

Oct 22nd, 2018Wowza. Now this is a Zin. So, so good. Juicy with delicious fruit that hits you up front with a nice round and slightly spicy finish. Damn good.

Sep 15th, 2018To me, not your everyday Zin. The lack of pepper and spice and the abundance of deep meaty fruits completely fooled me. That’s not to say it isn’t pleasant but as another commentator mentioned, it needs food. It’s a big, big wine with a lingering almost sweet finish of strawberry and dark chocolate. If priced more appropriately, it might be something I’d consider again. It’s a one-off for me.
