Oregon '99 Pinot noir dinner Top Five - 2nd place. A beautiful wine from Eyrie's famed South block. Tons of length, fruit and mineral intensity and nice balance of oak and tannin. Only knock is the weight is a little light, but the good aspects far out weighs this.

1980 South Block. Ethereal nose. Spicy minerality. Pommard like structure.

Interesting and beautiful wine. Tart red fruits, tea leaf and spice. Holding up well but no reason to age any further. Going to drink my remaining bottles and savor the experience

Honored to taste this today at the eyrie winery. 88. Reminded me of a good barbaresco, dried fruit, savory herbs, a touch of balsamic.

Truly in a class by itself! Depth, length, flavor, all outstanding. Continued to evolve over the course of being consumed. I'm blown away.
