Medium ruby hue. Aromas and flavors of baking spice, cherry, chocolate, cinnamon, coffee, and tar. Medium-plus body, with grainy, medium-plus tannins and medium-plus acidity. A complex and intriguing nose with a rounded palate and a full finish. A delicious Sangiovese.

Not nearly as good as the 2012 Riserva, but still a nice earthy and rustic Sangiovese appellation. Lots of dark berry and a bit of spice in this one. Approachable tannins. Really nice evolution of flavors as it oxidizes.

Nice nose of red cherry and tar. Flavors of cherry with a touch of pepper on the fairly simple yet pleasant palate. Medium finish.
