Lovely lucid structure with soft tannins that open up with time. A bouquet of delicate scents that goes along with any dish!

Cabernet descriptors coming thru of berry and tobacco. Some herbal notes. Medium weight and restrained. Really enjoyed this with a Waygu Steak.

This wine was a nice complement to both fish and beef from Peruvian fare. While somewhat young and tannic, the wine is nicely balanced with enough acidity to go extremely well with food. As a standalone I feel that more time in the bottle is required.

Deep Ruby with red and black fruit aromas and herb spice. A blend of 60% Cab Sauv and 40% Merlot the palate shows ruch fruit, cherries, plums and blueberries with tobacco, cacao and earthy/peppery spice notes, a real powerhouse of integrated flavors. Tannins are firm but approachable, a wine with a solid structure, yet elegant and smooth. This full-body wine’s finish was long, had a great mouth feel and was enjoyable ending with earthy character. Nice! My last ‘13.

Sassicaia's little brother delivers delicate violet, black currant, and a dusting of chocolate. Jammy, but also balanced like a classic Bordeaux with lighter tannins. Enjoyable young it will undoubtedly get deeper in the next 4-5 years.

2013 Tenuta San Guido "Guidalberto" Toscano IGT- I was honestly expecting something really slutty from this one and I was totally wrong. Silky structure, good acid, well integrated fruit and oak. Very pretty wine. Tasted out of eonomatic, need to spend an evening with this one and report back. Youthful with great potential.

Second label Sassicaia. Big dark berry fruit with a spicy oak. Well balanced and structured. I am very pleased!

Red currants, black plums, licorice, cocoa, earth tones, and a velvety mid-palate make for a balanced and approachable Cab/Merlot blend. Love the balanced structure and light hand on the oak. Tannins are soft, modest alcohol, present fruits, and great acidity to hold it all together. Soft and silky texture. Could see this gaining lots of complexity with time.

Beautiful vintage of this wine; perhaps the best I can remember tasting at this early stage. Lively and classically built-up structure. Now I understand the hype of '13 for Sass.
