Needs time. Primary fruit and tannin. I think this will come together.

A softer IGT than I would expect from San Guido. Being mostly Merlot, it definitely provide the classic maremma sage and sift earth tones. No much pepper or fruit otherwise. Found it a bit weak in the mouth, but finish was smooth and refreshing. Unfortunately tastes like a second label wine.

Redcurrant, lush cherry, soft worn leather, ocean breeze, bitter orange, clove. Almost reminiscent of Amaro. Sip, savor, contemplate a moment, repeat. Needs time, though

A great wine, and this relatively cool vintage is promising.

Deep Ruby red color w/concentrated red fruit aromas and earthy spice. The palate of this Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot blend shows layers of fruit, cherries and strawberries with tobacco, cacao and earthy/peppery spice notes. Tannins are tough at first but opens after decanting. This wine has elegance and a solid structure. This finish of this full-body wine had good length and enjoyable. I tasted the 2013 side by side with 2012 and the 13 was a cut above the 12 vintage, but 2012 may have longer aging potential. Tasting Sample.
