Drank 6/8/19. Nice with Stromboli

Scents of black cherry and earth. Red and black cherry flavors wrap around slight notes of earth and tar, backed by medium plus tannins. Sweet red cherry and a touch of black pepper on the medium + finish.

3/22/8/4/3 =90 pts.

#Reneiri now has to be one the top #tuscany producers. #Chianti, #Brunello, #Supertuscan all well made and distinctive - 2011 Chianti Classico

This one needs at least an hour to open up. What a big difference.

Dark ruby in color with medium intensity and an orange/ brick rim.

On the nose, raspberry juice, strawberries, cherries, plums, licorice, earth, metals, spices and peppercorn.

Medium bodied with long, thin legs and medium plus acidity.

Dry on the palate with tart cherries, raspberries, plums, earth, licorice, light vanilla, cherry bubble gum and peppercorn.

Short finish with fine grained tannins, yet noticeable, and tart strawberries.

This 6 year old Chianti Classico, is 100% Sangiovese and is a nice food wine, but not great by itself. I enjoyed it with assorted cheeses, by the pool.

Aged for 12 months in Allier oak barriques.

14% alcohol by volume.

Very nice with spaghetti and meatballs. Wanted to try organic grapes again and was pleased.

This needed time to open up, meaning it was flat and boring the first day and it completely transformed the second day. Black cherry, almond and hints of violet in the nose. Cherry, blackcurrant on the tongue with medium acidity and a chocolate finish that is accompanied with medium tannins. Interesting wine.
