Rather restrained at this point and rather angular but tons of potential here. A dark impression of Merlot with all the elements of a Black Forest Gateaux: dark chocolate, cherry and... ok that's where the analogy stops. Very nice now. Will he way better in 2022.

Concentrated...linear....a whole lot of oak and extraction. But I had enough fat for dinner to mitigate that. Would not have pegged it for an Italian merlot!

Didn't taste like an Italian wine - missing the Sangiovese - but good nonetheless. Earthy, full but not overpowering and I think the aging since 2004 helped. Decent super Tuscan from #Schneiders in DC.
