Tenuta delle Terre Nere
Guardiola Etna Rosso Nerello Cappuccio Nerello Mascalese
Talk about a massive step up from the young Rosso we drank just before. While the former was dark fruited, this was mostly red brambles with flowers and mushrooms. Impeccably layered with compelling texture. The tannins are still firm but integrating very nicely. Lovely structure. Long, slightly saline finish. My word, what a gorgeous wine! Perfectly appropriate to drink now but this will undoubtedly drink well for at least another five years.

May 8th, 2020Good spot for opening. Not without fruit, vigor but more delicate than the prephylloxera ‘10 and not in a bad way.

Nice balance of fruit and earth.

The ash, or Etna dust, is ever-present but just as well matched by a heap of rose petals. Barbaresco-esque, it's striking and haunting. Scary good and deserved of a top notch cinematographer and ultra-hipster soundtrack.
