This 2017 Tenuta Cucco, Barolo was a bit young and fresh at first but once it opened up a bit the wine revealed fresh cherry and oaky leather and hints of raspberry. Overall a strong showing for this 2017 nonetheless.

May 30th, 2022Errs a bit on the sour. Still a good wine, but compared to this other one, it’s a shadow of what it could be. Needs time. Lots of it.

Jun 9th, 2019Straightforward, classic Serralunga tannin profile, sturdy but perhaps lacking the grace of some.

Mar 16th, 2019Color deep/med garnet with brown brick rim. Nose: bright red fruit, red raspberry, cherry, hit smell of earth and noticeable alcohol. Palate: easy smooth entry, light red fruit, mid builds in acidity and tannin, still red fruits, back end was more intense with the tannins/acid/alcohol ramping up, long finish with some tarry notes. Had a NY steak with it, went great with it.

Sep 5th, 2022Very decent wine. We enjoyed it with cheese and it was perfect. Complex and smooth tannins, a bit of tobacco and ripe cherries.
