40 Years Together Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese

Tried ‘14 & ‘15 together. The name of the estate comes from "Ca' Pazzo", shown on ancient maps. Caparzo is owned by Elisabetta Gnudi Angelini, she also owns Altesino. Deep Ruby with berry fruit aromas with cedar, herbs and smoke, aged for 2 years on oak. On the palate cherry, plum & cranberry flavors, with leather, cacao, spice and tobacco notes. Lively acidity, fine approachable tannins, long ending with spicy oak finish. ‘15 a bit better!

Awesome. Keeps getting better as it opens

Tart cherry and anise with a dusty minerality. Needs a bit of breathing time. Amazing for the price point.

Nice and precise. A touch of heat on the finish, but that should relax with time in the bottle.

Sour cherry, raspberry, red flowers, provencial herbs, new car leather. Lean and really good.

2010 continues to impress

Got this at Whole Foods. Very nice, enjoyed it a lot. Fresh plums, tomato leaf, tobacco, very smooth.

Had this is Buffalo, NY at a stand out Italian place...good wine, good value if I remember right. I don't usually have great experience with Brunello.

Lean with loads of tart berry fruit and rhubarb. Reminds more of Rosso do Montalcino than Brunello.
