From a 375, popped and poured. Dark purple and very opaque. Nice scents and great mouth feel. Everyone's a bit polluted at this point so hard to get a read on the wine - but it went quickly.

Late night pull of this 375 bottle. In a good window for consumption. “Big” is the only note I wrote late in the night. I’m guessing that is accurate.

Another Wednesday Wine Committee for the books, this one in honor of a former WWC member, with the wines donates from his cellar by his family. A wonderful tribute. Wines tasted blind as usual.

Just incredible. I guessed early ‘70s vintage port. So much life ahead. Baked blackberry pie, old graham cracker & cherry liqueur with a finish that hardly ends. Fantastic!

Purchased en primeur in Europe 20 yrs ago. Cork disintegrated, but the wine is just superb. It’s intense, rich and smooth. Fresh notes of tobacco on the nose and palate. Excellent on its own, or with a cheese plate.

Dark brooding color. Opaque. Intense nose. Notes of raspberry, sweet plums, kirsch liqueur and some sweet prunes. Intense in the mouth as well. Makes the face flush. With more air this blew up. Woke everyone up at dessert.

Big birthday night for my dad and I! This was a classic with Stilton. Expressive, aromatic, super long and full of rooty goodness. Purchased on release by my my father.

Plump and dry, kirsch, black tea, licorice, anise spice, cocoa bitter chocolate, noticeably tannic and dry in the finish (Coravin tap from 2 months ago)

Quite interesting, extremely hot on the finish, but still keeping most of its faculties.
