Alcohol is a little hot and lifted throughout but this is a nicely resolved bottle on the early side of peak. 1.5hrs helped it open up.

All you light wines surrender, you wont stand a chance, The 2016 Taylor’s vintage is hitting it of the ballpark! Absolutely extraordinary. Youthful and unwind, yet with so much to tell. An impeccable concentration with a bottomless complexity backed by an underlying freshness and an infinite evolvement as it reach all the way down to the parent rock. Silencing grip on the palate with and outstanding fatigue, where the tannins is directed by the deepest of fruit concentration in combination with a fresh and mineral spine, it will hold you close and not release you until its slowly ebbing out in its everlasting final... Perfection

Taylor 1970. Hmm, honestly - not great. Raisins and vodka. Like a late Samuel Beckett play, it makes you wonder whether it's going to reveal something, or keep pushing the foreground. But not nearly as good as Beckett. Unlikely to be a faulty bottle (high fill and appropriately light hue) - frankly, too alcoholic and one-dimensional. Not bad but I won't be buying it again...

This is a killer 1985 vintage Porto, rich, structured, super complex, very much Taylor (rich and structured, not overly sweet), the more 1985 Portos I drink, the more I LOVE this vintage!! (BTW, 8-hour decant!)

18 Deep ruby, abundant fruit, complex, very long. V happy for several days after being opened.
