Maple candy! Not cloying at all. Hits hard after breathing for 2hrs with all the salted roasted pecans.

Best Port sampled in Porto so far. Barreled in 1967, bottled 2016 and quite amazing. Raisins and caramel throughout, honey velvet mouthfeel with a lingering finish that lasted and evolved for minutes after each sip. A treat and honor to be able to taste this one!

Very cool! Alcohol hits the nostrils in a negative fashion initially but once settled down (and brought down on temperature), it blossoms. Aged fudge, honey, molasses and candied dark fruits intermingle with dried figs, white raisins and dates; nuttiness too. Lots going on, but lacks subtlety considering its age.

1961 vintage. Great nuttiness and caramel notes. Lacking the back end oomph of vintage port. Still, pretty quaffable.

50 year port recently bottled by Taylors when released so no sediment to deal with. Very elegant, raisiny sweet finish. Hugely enjoyable.

Was going to call the nose the “definition of port like” but that felt a bit silly. Suffice it to say this is fantastically delicious with an incredibly aroma and truly a minutes plus long finish with beautiful caramel notes. Quite a wine indeed.
