No. 2 in the Vosne Romanee bracket. Some spirity oak notes. A sweetness to the palate with drying fine Tannins. Re- tasting:- Not quite up to the others in this bracket in terms of weight. A little alcoholic and clumsy in this company. My least pointed at 95 points but still a Gold Medal!

This undervalued 97 is drinking beautifully now. Elegant, silky and yet bloomy. Came right out of the bottle of cassis flower and spices with developed tannins and preserved fruit. There is unique layered compote scent/taste that I shall not forget. And that is why we drink this stuff all the time!

Elegant, fragrant and fresh. 2000 has an energy which has always been attractive. Marked by a healthy acidity, this wine has still plenty of elegance, purity and a floral character. Fine tannins, great balance power and finesse with a tight, fresh and persistent finish.

Musty but promising out the gate, then explosively floral and perfumed about 30 minutes in, but then shut down, not to emerge again. Maybe just a weird showing, but for the money, I'd like something more consistently excellent.

2nd of 6 RSVs at this dinner. This was tremendous. The sappy red fruits were rockin’. Backed up by zippy acidity and a nice tannic backbone.
