Nose is all spicey cherries. Stunning depth and mineral expression. Palate is mouth filling and sweet but also seems to be a bit tinny which is odd. A hint of a metallic taste. But it’s balanced and super pure. Good structure as well and tiny bit of heat. Big tannins but ripe. Good, almost very good but not great. Long finish. Clings. Almost a 9.3.

Wow, this rocks. This is like Chambolle. So delicate. Red Riesling to the max. So elegant and haunting. Nose is an earthy cherry ethereal perfume. It needs to breathe to get the aromas really going. But the palate is just ridiculous today. Fresh and elegant with incredible energy. Lithe tannins, such wispy pure cherry fruit and a blast of citrus rind. Long finish. Such fine, elegant and refined tannins. Such great energy. Barely sweet fruit but complex and such wonderful tiny berry intensity to the fruit. Transparent and nimble. Very very pure. Great wine.

Nose is very aggressive. Almost has the power of Syrah. Very meaty.

Palate is similarly dense. It’s not California - it has nice mineral spine and acidity - but it has that level of fruit. Some spice. Very delicious. Great with food. Some sleek almost but not really licorice like an underground river.

After an hour you get some barolo character. Sweet plum fruit. MUCH better.

Mos def a semi whack bottle of wine. By that I mean very distinctive. You should drink this when you have some time to think. It’s tasty enough to pop and pour but you’ll miss out on something g very good and very interesting.

This is some excellent red Riesling. It’s got great dark red cherry and ripe blueberry, some raspberry and blackberry flavors, some dried cranberry. A very little of that savory tomatoey VA which blows off, but good acid balance. Some spice, star anise, some black tea, all on the tongue. Blood and roses, violets, some bubble gum binding it. Velvet tannins that keep shrinking. A great brick red and translucent purple color. This is excellent wine. Nothing else matters. Excellent.

Agree with Lyle and the others here an outstanding wine! Quite earthy. Dark cherries. Sweet Pinot Fruit very classy. Indistinguishable from a Burgundy @ a much better price. I get violets orange zest crushed marble anise. How stupid of me to buy just 2 bottles. Yes it could be a Chambolle although for this it has a tiny touch too much fruit.
