The grape listán negro from Tenerife is a first for me. The nose shows too much sulphur unfortunately but lurking behind are red ripe cherries, raspberries, and dry black currants; on the palate is a rigid structure of acids, smooth tannins and medium-high alcohol that carry well the fruit, light oak, liquorice, and herbs into a delightful finish where the initial sulphur is forgotten and forgiven.
