Stone Hill Winery
Chambourcin
Listen, I don't want to come off as biased, because I'm not a fan of all the wines we make at my place if employment. But this easy going $11 bottle has more soul than any of your overpriced Sonoma county #pinotnoir's (taste/body wise the closest vinifera comparison) that people buy up in heard formation (not naming names). A unique lush boysenberry gives way to black cherries and supple dry spice on the finish. A #seductive #elegance reminiscent of the sexiest #bourgogne's WILL leave you craving more after every sip. Did I mention it only retails for like $11? #chambourcin #MOwines #gem #missouri #hermann #value

Oct 24th, 20152010 Stone Hill Missouri Chambourcin. Floral and herby aromas plus tart cherry, wild berry, herbs of Provence and baking spice. Lively soft finish. Reminiscent of Mourvèdre. #wine #missouri #missouriwine #chambourcin

Jan 31st, 2014Taking a cue from @Severn Goodwin I’m drinking some MO wine, which is made just a few hours from where I live. I had never had anything by Stone Hill prior to this, assuming it wasn’t very good, but I was wrong. This is a great light bodied red and was great with a slight chill. Black and blue fruits, forest floor, and a mineral streak combine with medium + acid and light tannins for an easy drinking, dry, fresh red. I bought a few of this producer’s wines and look forward to trying the others. A pleasant surprise!

Jun 26th, 2022I think MO wines are quite possibly the hidden gems of the wine world! This particular wine is a fantastic every day wine, yet it can go with a steak if necessary. Love it!

Nov 30th, 2014I know...from Missouri, but this is no joke! Great with steak as long as its not too peppery.
