Incredibly fun syrah. Whole cluster, carbonic and early picked. Bright and super fruity. Blackberries on the nose and fresh blueberry pie on the palete. Dry farmed and only 12.5% alcohol.

A fun explosive fruit bomb. Great with spicy pizza.

Imagine Allemand being kidnapped and transported to the Wine Ghetto. Imagine him being told “do your Syrah thing...or else”. Carbonic. Sans soufre. Gaining weight and complexity 36 hours after opening. Will easily go 10 years. Sublime & extraordinary. #stolpmanvineyards #syrah #ballardcanyon #sanssoufre #carbonic

This is the rainbow Syrah. Outstanding carbonic Syrah. I think it shows that SB Syrah has way more to offer than some of the Pinot. Blueberry, cranberry, forest, rocks, a bit of herbs/spice, but the acidity really shines. Loving this new winery inside a winery. Definitely better than standard stolpman wines.

A tough start. A little spritzy and funky without the “soufre”. 15-20 minutes in, a lot nicer, quite fresh and soft dark berry notes, even if a touch vegetal.

Velvety, deep purple Syrah that is both complex and refreshing! Quality dark cherry fruit and herbs!

Carbonic Syrah from high-density Ballard Canyon blocks. I was skeptical, but this is some serious juice, and like all of my favorite natural/low-intervention wines it is unmistakably representative of the grape’s traditional elements. This is Syrah, and you’re not left guessing. The carbonic, lifted notes are there, but they do not clash with or overshadow characteristics of the grape. Honestly, much more of a Rhône vibe than the more conventionally produced Stolpman wines (also delicious, for the record.) Getting more and more receptive to wines with glitter as I poke my head further into this natty wine rabbit hole...

Deep purple, edging on inkiness with whiffs of plum, cherry and gingersnap. There’s something about this that gives me Bath & Body Works vanilla cake candle vibes. Spicy on the back of the palette. Frickin good, but not super exciting.

2017. Lighter body, dark fruits, a little funky. Really like it!

This is a very cool, unexpected wine. Syrah, but carbonic. Fruity, light weight, funky, intercut with meaty and herby flavors. I’m just a little pissed I didn’t buy more.
