Smokey fruit. Deep and long. Nice structure. Drinks well now, but one to put down a bit. Delicious.

Santa Barbara Syrah is the way to go 🙏🏿

Ballard Canyon has it's own identity for Syrah, and Stolpman Vineyards expresses theirs with gorgeous nuance. If I were to blind before tasting this wine, I would be slightly confused, but call a Syrah from Northern Rhone, but by a newer house. There's the telltale garrigue, florals and smoked meats of N Rhone, but the blue fruit and spice is strong and pervasive enough to make it subtly new world. Gorgeous wine. Really enjoyed this.

A scaled-up, tighter-wound version of the Estate bottling. Rhonish, with understated notes of bay laurel, olive, bacon and roasted red fruits. Needs time, but the promise is obvious. Impeccable. #stolpman #syrah #ballardcanyon

Too big and bold for me. Chewy fruit and tannins. Maybe with some time i would like this more.

Lavender, blueberry, anise, rosemary and black pepper on the nose.
Intense blue fruits and spices on the palate with firm tannic coated the mouth. High alcohol, medium to low acidity and herbal on the finish...
14.5 ABV.
Definitely the Syrah that will go well with my Jalapeño T-bone

Brambles and spice. Bright acid and fruit.

Great limestone minerality and spice, Chinese spare rib goin on. She likes red vinyl smoking booths in dimly lit corners.
