Beaujolais Villages Gamay

Simple. Unripe cherry. Licorice root.

Bright Ruby color with aromas of fresh red fruits and hints of floral spice. On the palate flavors of cherry, raspberry and currants with notes of pepper spice, good acidity and balance. Medium finish, soft tannins, ending with a juicy fruit and floral character. Nice value, easy drinking. Drink now no aging benefit.

More tannin, structure than other Village - agreed. Buttery nose.

Second time around with this bottle. Excellent with Gamay staples like tomato salad, guac, and sweet potatoes. The value really takes it next level.

Stephane Aviron Beaujolais Villages 2014. 50+ year old vines and whole cluster fermentation. Far more structured than most would expect from Village wine.

Works well with fennel and tomatoes.

Red cherry, cranberry, raspberry, candy. M- acid, tannin and body. Bright red fruit. Easy drinking wine.

Classic Beaujolais. Bright, fresh but lacks a little complexity. A bit too much funk in the finish for me.

Plum, red currant, orange rind, mud, tin. On the downslope, but still quaffable.

Quaffer for pheasant prep.
