Steele Wines
Red Hills Lake County Cabernet Sauvignon
Another weekend is upon us and I picked up this 2015 Steele Red Hills Lake County Cabernet Sauvignon today.
The nose revels black cherry, blackberry, plum, black currant, spice, herbal notes, oak, mint, vanilla, cigar bax and rich soil.
On the palate I get black cherry, plum, blackberry, black currant, green bell pepper, herbs, sweet oak, mint and earth.
A nice well rounded wine medium to full bodied with a supple mouthfeel with medium to + acidity and medium + silky tannins that lead to a long fruit smokey finish. A very nice wine with a great QPR. Enjoy your start of the weekend and make it a safe one. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Exceptional cab for the price, if you can find it for under $20 then purchase. Well balanced and not overly complex but still hits all the traditional needs in a cab. Drink now or hold until 2022.

1 person found it helpfulFeb 27th, 2013Last red from Steele Wines. Deep and dark garnet red. A little tight to start with some chalky notes as well as greenery and bell peppers. Seems to be a little old world in style with quite a bit of acidity. Moderate tannins (5.5//10) and moderate body. Seems balanced. Developed notes of red cherries. Slightly dry long finish. Best of the Steele Wines line up, definitely interested to see what else is happening in Lake County. Drink till 2026.
