SF Chronicle gold medal winner. The 2013 Soquel Vineyards Chardonnay is outstanding. I love this Chardonnay. — 10 years ago
Dark and dusty. A nice hearty cab with lasting plum and fig highlighted by a subtle sweet oak. — 10 years ago
Baiocchi 2013 Mourvedre, while young, drinks very well now. Open and let this wine breath for a good couple hours or as long as you can stand. Excellent full mouth feel with good acidity makes this a fantastic food wine (think fillet). Drink now through 2020. — 9 years ago
Bruised apricot, caramel and sweet smoke on the nose. Good acid helps keep the sweetness under control. Toffee and vanilla with an alluring nuttiness on the palate complement the soft creamy texture. The finish is excellent. Long, complex and warming. — 10 years ago
(2006)Decanted for an hour or so and came back to a nice wine. Really a well put together wine. Dried leafs and raspberry fruit leather on the the nose. Soft tannin with a long finish. Delicious. — 10 years ago
2009 La Vita from Bargetto Winery, Santa Cruz County.
We found these bottles hiding in storage at the winery and wow. Time has treated this '09 well. A blend of Nebbiolo, Refosco & Dolcetto, La Vita is consistently one of the best Italian varietal wines I can find. A lush nose of blueberry and boysenberry preserves accented by baking spices and forest floor. Followed by a perfectly ripe palate with density and weight. I can keep going but I won't. Try this wine. — 9 years ago

This 2010 Baiocchi Orellana is dirty...
in the best way possible. Mushrooms and forest floor on the nose followed by a lush and dense palate of cranberry and black cherry.
I can't recommend this wine highly enough. — 9 years ago
