Not a bad South African blend, love the 42% Shiraz. Subtle woody aroma, balanced full bodied flavor. Great spicy plum notes on the tail.

2 people found it helpfulJan 13th, 20142011 vintage with 46% shiraz and the rest made up of mourvedre, grenache, carignan, tannat and durif. Smoky, meaty nose on this one with some slight under ripe plum on the nose. Maybe more, my sinuses are acting up. You drink this and it tastes almost like nothing you smelled. Tart boysenberry, blueberry and plum notes lead the way, backed by good acidity and a light mouthfeel. The finish isn't very long, which is a detriment to me, but for a $20 bottle I'm pleased with what I taste. I love South Africa and it's wines, and this is another bottle in proof of that.

On the palate plum, cherry and strawberry flavors with toasty oak and fine tannins. A bit on the savory side the wine shows good balance and ends with cacao notes.

Jul 19th, 2016This was a really fun wine to try. True to its name, it has the hallmarks of a collision of flavor profiles from many parts of the world: chocolate from South America, Asian spices, dark fruit from Europe, tobacco from America. Definitely has a spicy kick and lots of plum.
