A real triumph for the Niagara region, this Can-Merlot blend had bold flavors and one of the best bouquets I've smelt, certainly out of the north east. A toned earthiness is prominent both within the initial taste as well as the nose, but tart black cherry notes round out the finish. Great full bodied dry red to pair nicely with our spice rubbed pork tenderloin. On a personal level, huge fan of this Canadian wine: Henry of Pelham, being a duel citizen of Canada and USA, and born and raised in Pelham, NY! — 11 years ago

Incredibly smooth Bordeux blend. Subtle, yet defining notes of oak (probably from the French oak fermentation) that provides a properly rounded blend. Fantastic company to a spiced desert or in our case, a one of a kind Nat Sherman cigar. — 11 years ago

An absolutely fantastic Meritage. Great spice from the 52% cab franc. Paired well with a spice filled meal from Ports, and does not go unnoticed among the strong flavors of our food. — 12 years ago

Tremendous Pinot, plenty of strong flavors for this balanced medium body. Spicy notes and subtle cherry flavor, along with a cedar filled bouquet. Very impressed for a 2012, hard vintage year for sure. I'm a big fan of the branding as well, classic but eye catching nonetheless. — 11 years ago

Falling for Carmeneres lately. Terrifically full bodied with enough spice to entice but not overwhelm. Went well with a great burger and good company! — 11 years ago

Not a bad South African blend, love the 42% Shiraz. Subtle woody aroma, balanced full bodied flavor. Great spicy plum notes on the tail. — 11 years ago

For our Italian Dinner Party, enjoying this Tuscan Carmignano hand crafted on an ancient Medici Estate. Well rounded body, full of spice and earthy flavors complimented by subtle plum and cedar flavors. Paired well with prosciutto and drunken olives. — 11 years ago

This Merlot had a marvelous fruity nose and was bold and spicy from the first sip to the last.
