A real triumph for the Niagara region, this Can-Merlot blend had bold flavors and one of the best bouquets I've smelt, certainly out of the north east. A toned earthiness is prominent both within the initial taste as well as the nose, but tart black cherry notes round out the finish. Great full bodied dry red to pair nicely with our spice rubbed pork tenderloin. On a personal level, huge fan of this Canadian wine: Henry of Pelham, being a duel citizen of Canada and USA, and born and raised in Pelham, NY! — 10 years ago
Tremendous Pinot, plenty of strong flavors for this balanced medium body. Spicy notes and subtle cherry flavor, along with a cedar filled bouquet. Very impressed for a 2012, hard vintage year for sure. I'm a big fan of the branding as well, classic but eye catching nonetheless. — 10 years ago
Falling for Carmeneres lately. Terrifically full bodied with enough spice to entice but not overwhelm. Went well with a great burger and good company! — 10 years ago
Honestly surprised by the bold flavors of his 2012 Cab out of a $10 bottle. Headed back the the store to but another bottle! — 10 years ago
Not a bad South African blend, love the 42% Shiraz. Subtle woody aroma, balanced full bodied flavor. Great spicy plum notes on the tail. — 10 years ago
